Schertz and Cibolo are neighboring towns in the Texas Hill Country, just 3.5 miles apart. Cibolo is the Native American word for buffalo, harkening back to the early settlers of the area. Schertz was named in 1899 after Sebastian Schertz, who immigrated with his family from Alsace Lorraine, France and made many significant contributions to the development of the community, including the first water supply plant, the general store and the first cotton gin. Schertz is the bigger of the two towns, with a population of 41,94 residents. Cibolo’s is estimated at 30,563. Both are vibrant and growing towns, with lots to do, and close to the popular towns of Seguin and San Antonio.

The town has some fun annual events, including the Schertz Jubilee on the 4th of July, with fireworks, carnival, 5K, parade! They also offer an annual Trunk or Treat for Halloween and “Holidazzle”, sure to get your holiday season off to the right start! The Schertz Parks and Recreation Department also hosts Music & Movies in the Park, which rotates between its many parks.
Both towns boast great shopping and restaurants – Schertz has The Forum at Olympia Parkway, a beautiful, large open-air shopping center with no shortage of shops and restaurants. Cibolo has two shopping centers – Shops at Cibolo Bend and The Shops At the Mill.
